The Blue & Gold Banquet is our annual celebration of Scouting! Wear your neckerchief and full uniform as we enjoy looking back at our past year with Pack & Den Highlights, and help fifth graders cross over to Scouting America troops in a captivating ceremony and slideshow.

Tickets are $5 per family. A selection of finger foods and cupcakes will be served!

Come join Pack 862 for donuts and to do a good turn cleaning up a portion of White Rock Lake shoreline adopted by our unit! Trash grabbers are provided.

Join us for a fun day trip down to the Waco Mammoth National Monument, and catch a glimpse into the lives and habitat of Columbian mammoths and other Ice Age animals! We’ll take a look at real fossils (and dig for practice fossils) at the only place in the country showcasing evidence of a nursery herd of Ice Age Columbian mammoths.

Preliminary Schedule
8:00 a.m. – Depart for Waco (families desiring to caravan/carpool together will meet at CLC by 8:00, but you’re welcome to go directly from home to WMNM).
10:00 a.m. – all attendees meet outside the Welcome Center at WMNM.
10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – explore WMNM, including exhibits and dig shelter, and work on National Park Service Junior activities.
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – picnic lunch.
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – hike the half-mile Eagle Trail, a nature trail developed and created as part of an Eagle Scout project; visit the gift shop or do additional exploring on your own.
2:30 p.m. – Depart for Dallas. Families desiring to make a longer day of it might consider visiting the nearby Dr Pepper Museum or Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.

Cost: $4.00 per person. After you have RSVPed, a separate payment request will be sent to you through Spond; alternatively, you can pay in cash at WMNM.

Food: Each family should bring a picnic lunch for each member of their family. Dens may wish to coordinate den picnic lunches.

Opening Flags for DSO concert at Flag Pole Hill.

Scouts in uniform, present at 7pm for a quick rehearsal. The show starts at 8:15pm with fireworks at 9:15pm.

Stick around for great music and a fireworks show at the end of the event.
