Please join us at Hexter Pavilion this Saturday to begin building your Pinewood Derby Car. Kits will be available if you haven’t already picked yours up. We will have design templates, power tools, and other gear needed to prepare your car for painting, remove burrs from the nails/axles and drill holes for adding weight.

Setup begins at noon. The race runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cleanup will be from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Each year Pack 862 participates in Scouting for Food. Our efforts this weekend and next will result in a significant contribution to the food pantry at White Rock Center of Hope.

Between 9am and 11am, swing by Central Lutheran Church and pick up a stack of specially marked grocery bags and a street assignment. Scouts are welcome to pair or group up as you wish. It’s more fun that way!

Proceed to your street assignment and make sure that each front door gets a grocery bag. The bags include Scouting for Food instructions and indicates that we will return next week to collect food donations.

And that’s it! You’ll return to the same streets the following Saturday to pick up loaded grocery bags and return them to CLC.

Scouting for Food bags get picked up from streets assigned to our unit by Council. Food will be gathered at CLC for a photo op and delivered to White Rock Center of Hope.

Food drop-off at White Rock Center of Hope is 1-3pm.

Opening Flags for DSO concert at Flag Pole Hill.

Scouts in uniform, present at 7pm for a quick rehearsal. The show starts at 8:15pm with fireworks at 9:15pm.

Stick around for great music and a fireworks show at the end of the event.
