Fall 2021 – Primitive Campout @ TRJ

Come camp near Athens, Texas next to the lake shores at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp! We will be on the Dogwood Ridge site, featuring restrooms and water close by, no power hookups. There is a large covered pavilion on the site.

There will be opportunities to hike, bike, fish, and generally enjoy some Scout activities in a less structured format.

Adventure plan.

Your registration fee covers the shared cost of a campsite. You will be driving up to the site and dropping supplies, and then returning vehicles to the parking area less than 1000 yards away.

Will you be entering a chili in the chili cookoff competition?

Entrants will cook and provide chili for dinner on Saturday evening, feeding 10. When you cook chili, you have a lower participation fee to help offset ingredients!

We recently learned there is a horsemanship activity that will cost approximately $25 per scout, and include instruction on horsemanship, and spending less than an hour riding a horse, lead by the reigns by the scout’s parent. Cub Scouts Wolf Rank and higher are eligible. This event would occur on a Saturday in late April. Do you think this is an activity that should be pursued and organized by pack leadership?
